Free Tix to TechCrunch Disrupt, Other Sectors Hiring Tech Roles, and Workplace Survival Guides
Happy Thursday Gen She Community! ☀️
Let’s get the day started…
TechCrunch is pivoting layoffs into lift-offs by offering FREE tickets to this year’s Disrupt for those who have been affected by layoffs in the past year!
Here’s how attending Disrupt can help you find a job:
🚀 Meet reps from startups and large enterprises on the expo hall floor and see who's hiring
🚀 Network with 10,000 attendees at parties, receptions, and app (limited access)
🚀 Attend partner roundtables and breakouts to hear what's new in your industry and gain competitive insights
This is a limited quantity, first-come first-served offer! Grab your free tickets here.
Not laid off? Get tickets for general admission, students, founders, investors, and non-profits here.
Speaking of layoffs… TechCrunch hosts an updated, comprehensive list of 2023 tech layoffs.
If you’ve only ever worked in tech or only ever imagined yourself working in tech, I’ll encourage you to consider these other sectors that are continuously expanding while tech is seemingly shrinking and, yes, they are very much hiring for roles like software engineering, data science, cybersecurity etc.
If this current job market has taught us anything, it’s that we should be more flexible. No matter what you see on TikTok, you need to decide for yourself what is non-negotiable for your job and what you can compromise on. Make a list of these things to help keep you grounded in your job search - consider things like salary, work location, job title, and industry. Being more flexible will naturally open up more opportunities for you. Wishing you the best as we all try to navigate these rough waters. ❤️
