I used to think egg freezing was only for older women or those with fertility issues. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The truth? It’s actually easiest and most successful when you’re young and healthy — and that’s exactly what no one tells you.
I’m not saying every woman in her 20s should freeze her eggs. But I am saying the information out there is incomplete, outdated, and gatekept. The only stories we hear are from women freezing at 35 in crisis mode instead of as fertility insurance. But that’s the exception — not the norm.
Even though I’m young, healthy, and likely to start a family soon with my partner, I still chose to freeze my eggs — not out of fear, but out of foresight. Because I believe in using science and medicine to protect what matters most: having a healthy baby. Fertility medicine has come a long way — and with insurance covering more of it, the cost isn’t what you’d think (spoiler: it’s about the price of a designer bag — full breakdown coming soon).
This isn’t my usual content, but it’s something I’m deeply passionate about. When I started this process, I couldn’t find a single voice like mine sharing what it’s actually like — not the hormone-heavy, multi-round IVF nightmare stories, but the real, regular experience.
That’s why I’m starting this series. To share the truth. To destigmatize the conversation. And to empower more ambitious women like me to understand their options and take control of their futures.
